LAKE COMO ESTATE

Scope: Interior Design. Role: Head of Design & Creative at Life House.

The revival of a grand Palazzo, drawing inspiration from pioneering modernism and the zeitgeist of Roman Innovation—a tribute to the historical significance of the property and evolution of the prized Lake Como peninsula. The contrast of eras creates a visual interest that pays homage to the former, while creating new life in the space for the future. Lake Como has been a retreat for aristocratic travelers since the Roman occupation in 49 BC. Under Emperor Augustus, and then Caesar, Lake Como became a hub for innovation and trade, Magistri Comancini stone masonry, and shipbuilding. The spatial design narrative nods to an era of innovation that beckoned the elite to Lake Como in ancient eras.
