In the Berber language, the noun Alallu symbolizes dignity, stemming from the Berber verb lullet. The Alallu Collection is designed to celebrate the cultural depth & significant craft that has been passed down through generations of Berber women. We’ve been inspired by the artistic ingenuity of these women, and evermore their strong roles in a supposedly male-dominated society, where they weave to improve their economic livelihoods, all the while maintaining households and raising children. This collection is a love letter—to Berber women, their artisan souls & fierce femininity.
